The Beginning Grower Video Series
At no-till growers, our goal is to aggregate as much ecological no-till farming information as possible. But, in terms of making a profession out of growing food, no-till or not, beginning/aspiring farmers must understand what farming is, how to get into it responsibly, and some of the more nuanced elements of managing a farm business.
So, I’m doing a series over at my farm’s YouTube to tackle some of the practical aspects of beginning to farm. Of getting into the biz, so to speak. These videos will compliment the no-till videos we already do there—and here—and hopefully add some perspective on what it takes to run a farm as a business, putting some of the ecological practices we promote into the wider context of farm success. There isn’t a lot of no-till content our there, at least not yet, and we’re working on that here. There is quite a lot out there about farm management, but more could always be done by established farmers to share their personal insights and experiences with newcomers.
I would love for this to be a collaborative effort, so please ask questions, request videos, or simply add your perspective and experience—I do not have a monopoly on all the good advice. Please, feel free to jump in!
Here are to the first two, we will post more as we… well… post more.
