Broadforks & Broadforking Videos

Podcast guest Steven Cornett recently put up a couple of great videos about broadforking and soil health, so I thought—in case you missed them—we would share those as well as some other good broadforking videos. It is, after all, almost forkin’ season. Take a minute to get a better idea of how broadforking should work (we did it wrong ourselves when we first began), considerations when purchasing a broadfork (not all are equal nor is one best for every farm), and all that other good farm nerd stuff. Make sure to subscribe to Steven and all these other folks on YouTube (yes, I am one of the other folks, but still… subscribe).

Steven comparing broadforks

I'll be comparing my 3 favorite broadfork brands for you. Meadow Creature, Treadlite, and Johnny's. The only ones I recommend and I have tested extensively. This is a buying guide to help you choose what is best for your growing context.

Steven talks technique and soil ecology

Today we are diving DEEP into soil biology and why growing no/low till is the best for the health of soil, plants, and humans. I'll also be giving you TONS of tips for the best broadforking techniques. Ones that lower your output of work and provide maximum benefit to the soil and minimizing disturbance and damage to soil.

Steven reviews the Treadlite broadfork

Learn all about the amazing Treadlite Broadfork! I'll show you how to assemble it, the features that make this broadfork extra special, and proper broadforking technique. I'll also give you lots of advice to help you decide which configuration and size is best for your application.

How to use and buy a broadfork from some handsom beast

The broadfork is one of the most important tools on our farm (we have two). And since we are doing a ton of broadforking right now I thought I would explain how to do it and which kind of broadforks to consider purchasing.
