The Week in No-Till: BCS Drop Spreader, Jared’s Real Potatoes, & Season Two
Hey all, since Jackson and his wife had a kid this week (CONGRATS, FAM!) I’m taking over the Friday post and talking about a few things that have come across my feed.
BCS Drop Spreader
First, I am super curious about this compost spreader from BCS that JM is testing out in this video.
I have been using the BCS less and less around the farm, but I have to admit that this is pretty attractive. That said, when I look at the bucket size I feel as though it would probably not be worth the work nor more efficient than the wheel barrow, but maybe for light applications? Would love to know your thoughts.
Jared’s real no-till potatoes
Also, the week that I put up a post about no-till potatoes, I saw this little instagram story of Jared Smith of Jared’s Real Food (who was on the podcast last year) hauling out some particularly exquisite Yukon golds. That’s about as dreamy as farming can get right there.
NTMG Podcast Recording
It’s official, I began recording season two of The No-Till Market Garden Podcast! Don’t you miss that theme music? The first episode is in the bag, and two more interviews are scheduled for later this month. Expect season two to drop towards the end of the Summer, hopefully the first week of September. If you are a patreon member you are allowed to ask questions of the guests. Spoiler alerts abound, but I tell patreon members who is due for an interview and they get to submit a question. It’s a perk of supporting our work.
Anyway, have a great weekend, y’all! Harvest your butts off.
