BCS products came to America in the early 1970’s at a time when Americans were re-discovering the joys of vegetable gardening and pursuing self-sufficiency. Almost forty years later, there are now many tens of thousands of BCS owners in the US and Canada. Like BCS in Italy, the mission of BCS America is to increase your productivity and reduce the physical effort required to accomplish your outdoor tasks, projects, and farm work. Now introducing the 30” spreader attachment for adding a consistent layer of compost/amendments to a standard 30” bed. Even in a no-till system, there are a myriad of uses for the best two wheel tractor on the market.
Last, and foremost, our work is—in large part—supported by YOU! Yes, you. Our purpose is to bring you—the farmer—the best small-scale no-till veg-specific hyphen-tastic growing info out there. If you find this podcast to be of value, and want to see No-Till Growers grow, support our work for as little as $2/month on Patreon or Venmo/Paypal a onetime contribution. At 30+ episodes a year, that’s less than a dollar for each episode. Quite literally, we couldn’t do it without y’all.
… and onto our interview
Really cool interview with Casey of Wild Mountain Seeds, a market garden and small scale seed company in Colorado, especially for those of us who get nerdy about seed saving. We get into his creative lease agreement on a large regenerative ranch, the challenges of a very short growing season (zone 3!?), growing fertility because of a lack of access to inputs, adapting seeds for your context/climate, getting two crops—one of veg and one of seeds—from the same plant, and of course the no-till practices they use, what works, and what hasn’t.
